with Deb Helton

Fri, Dec 5 - Sun, Dec 7

Price: $0.00

Deb began to participate in her spiritual journey when she was a teenager and faced with the choice between living and dying. She was surrounded with a group of people who applied spiritual principles in a way that was accessible and inviting. They personified and gave her a design for living with the Spirit that saved her life and redesigned her purpose while pushing her deeper into the arms of God.

She continues to be fascinated with how God is experienced through community and collective spiritual practice. She has a bachelors degree in Social Psychology and Master’s degree in Social Work with an emphasis on the whole rather than the individual, macro instead of micro. Her spiritual path has included basic exploration and practice from the Lakota Sioux tradition, the Catholic tradition and religion, Buddhist meditation practice, and the Contemplative approach to seeing. Her conception of who/what God is or isn’t has changed through the years and is informed by continued exploration of various meditation and prayer practices and participating in pilgrimage.

She has provided workshops on topics such as Prayer, Henry Drummund's The Greatest Thing in the World, the 13 Biases compiled by Rev. Brian McLaren, the Dark Night of the Soul, the Gifts of the Spirit, the Four Absolutes, (how to get along in any community), the 12 Steps and many other topics about the Spirit or the practices for seeking partnership with Spirit. She learns through hearing and teaching and values the tradition of storytelling.
